If Mortgage Rates Keep Rising Real Estate Prices Will Drop 20 to 30%

Mortgage rates can certainly keep rising. I would not be surprised to see the rate north of 5 percent by the time of Trump`s inauguration and maybe we can be at 6 percent or more early next year. I think we will have a 20 to 30 percent decline in real estate prices if mortgage rates are at 6 percent and what is that going to do to the banks? (Bank of America (BAC), Goldman Sachs (GS), J.P. Morgan (JPM), citigroup (C), Wells Fargo (WFC), Deutsche Bank AG (USA)(NYSE:DB))

Higher Rates Will Be A Disaster For The Banks

Banks are trading up today because traders believe that higher interest rates are going to be good for the banks. They will not. They will be a disaster for the banks.  (Bank of America (BAC), citigroup (C), Wells Fargo (WFC), Goldman Sachs (GS), Select Sector Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF))

Stock Market: Banks (J.P. Morgan (JPM), Bank of America (BAC), Citigroup (C), Wells Fargo (WFC)) & Interest Rates

Any meaningful increase in interest rates is not a positive for the financials. It is just wishful thinking that these financials are going to do well when the Federal Reserve raises interest rates.

Markets: Sell-Off In European Banks

These big banks in Europe are lower than they were at their lows in 2008/2009 financial crisis. And the big one is Deutsche Bank AG (NYSE:DB) which had to come out and assure everybody that they do not have any solvency problems which is very reminiscent of Lehman Brothers or Bear Stearns.

Markets Are Forming A Top

I still believe that the stock market is in the process of making a top and will in fact roll over if the Federal Reserve does not come out and take the interest rate hikes off the table and unveils a new round of QE, or reverse the taper. If Yellen does that before the market breaks down than she will avert the bear market. But if she waits until after it breaks down, obviously she will be reacting to it.

But either way, the markets are in the process of forming a top, at least a short term top until the federal Reserve gives in and gives the addicts what they need, wether they need it or not.

The U.S. Economy Will Sink Without QE

I don`t think the economy can sustain itself without QE. Think about how weak the GDP growth has actually been. We have been decelerating because 2013 was below 2012, and 2014 is probably going to be below 2013.

But all those years had QE. So if the economy can barely grow with all the QE, what is going to happen when you take it away?

The U.S. Dollar Rally Will Be Short Lived

I haven`t been bearish on the stock market even though I am bearish on the U.S. Economy. I have been bearish on the on the U.S. Dollar, the dollar has rallied recently but I think that is going to be short lived.

The problem is the Federal Reserve will keep on doing one monetary policy mistake after another, they are going to destroy the value of money which means nominal stock prices have to go up. But don`t confuse that with a vibrant economy.

This Is A Stock Market Rally For The 1 Percent

Despite the fact that the Dow Jones Industrials closed at a record high, you have got 21 year lows in CNBC viewership. Why is that?

I have said this before, this is a stock market rally for the 1 percent!

The average american who was in the stock market during the 1990`s they are too broke to invest in the stock market now. You have some wealthy people that are involved but the vast majority of americans, they are spending their money in the supermarket, not in the stock market.
