Gold Miners, Commodity Stocks: The Beginning Of A New Trend

It was one of the best quarters that I can remember for gold stocks. No one on Wall Street owns gold stocks but people like me own them, my clients own gold stocks. They had a great quarter.

So, if you are investing abroad, if you are investing in resource, if you are investing in gold, you had a phenomenal quarter and in my opinion this is the beginning of a new trend.

Lower Oil Prices Will Push The U.S. Economy Into Recession

Long term of course, it is always a good thing. Contrary to what Central Bankers and the economist are telling us, it is always a good thing when consumer prices fall. Even Janet Yellen acknowledged the benefits of lower gas prices. Well, the same thing applies to all prices.

But here is the problem. If it turns out that we had a bubble in the energy sector, if the Federal Reserve really does raise interest rates, and I don`t really think they are going to, but if they do and the oil prices stays at these prices or goes lower, all of the activity in the oil sector for the last past several years turns out to have been a bubble and the layoffs that we are going to get in the short run and the credit losses and the Capex spending declines will be significant enough in the short run to push the U.S. Economy back into recession. I think it is a bigger impact than the bursting of the dot com bubble.

A Sharp Oil Reversal

I think this oil decline is temporary. It is a market driven phenomenon, it is technical and again it has to do with the anticipation of a tighter Federal Reserve and a strong dollar. The dollar has strengthened but the Federal Reserve has not tightened and I do not believe it is going to tighten because I think the recovery is a mirage.

And as more people figure this out in 2015, and the dollar trade reverses, I think you are going to see a sharp reversal in oil as well.

Falling Oil Prices Are Good For The European Economy

Falling oil prices are a good thing. They are good for the European economy. The only problem is that the low prices are not going to last, I think it is temporary. But the idea that Europe needs inflation is a complete and utter nonsense. Economies benefit from falling prices. Imagine if crude oil was free, if Europeans could have all the oil they wanted and did not cost anything. Wouldn't that be fantastic?

The Weakness In Crude Oil Is Temporary

I think the weakness in oil is temporary because it is based on, (A) on the global slowdown but (B) on the strength of the dollar which is predicated on the false belief that we have a legitimate U.S. recovery and as such the Federal Reserve can stop doing QE and raise rates, needer of these assumptions is true.

Crude Oil: Low Prices Are Not Sustainable

I do not think these levels are going to be sustainable given all the inflation that is being created around the world and the inflation I believe is going to be created in the United States.

This Is A Stock Market Rally For The 1 Percent

Despite the fact that the Dow Jones Industrials closed at a record high, you have got 21 year lows in CNBC viewership. Why is that?

I have said this before, this is a stock market rally for the 1 percent!

The average american who was in the stock market during the 1990`s they are too broke to invest in the stock market now. You have some wealthy people that are involved but the vast majority of americans, they are spending their money in the supermarket, not in the stock market.

Higher Crude Oil Prices Will Affect The Global Economy

I am bullish on oil anyway. I think the price of oil is going up regardless of what happens in Iraq. But to the extent that Iraqi production is disrupted by civil war, that is only going to be more bullish for the price of crude oil. And it is going to affect the global economy because its going to be more expensive and that`s going to be a negative.

Oil Prices Are Going Higher

We have broken out decisively and the path of least resistance is up. Of course, if we do get any kind of disruption of these oil wells in Iraq, its going to be way up. But even if nothing bad happens there, prices are still headed higher.
