Theres a Potential Huge Problem With Social Media Stocks (GOOG, FB, TWTR)

There's a potential huge problem with these social media sites, Google (GOOG), Facebook (FB), Twitter (TWTR). You know everybody whose business model is advertising where the user pays nothing, if you want to use Facebook, if you want to use Twitter, it costs nothing! It doesn't cost you anything to have a Twitter account, to have a Facebook account, it's all free!

Well if it's all free how does Facebook make all this money? Well, they make all the money by selling the data that they collect from all of their users to advertisers or political campaigns or anybody who needs personal information in order to market their product or sell their product. That is the trade-off that everybody makes - you get the service for free but you know that they're using your information.

I think the public, potentially there could be a backlash regarding just how much information the social media companies are actually retaining.

Stock Market: A Perfect Storm

The bond market was still lower despite the Federal Reserve optimism that inflation is going to remain in check but this could set the tone for some more weakness in the stock market. We got other problems going on with the Nasdaq and the FANG stocks and Facebook (FB) and all that seems like it could be a perfect storm brewing in an overvalued US stock market.

U.S. Stock Market or the U.S. Dollar: One Is Going To Crash!

The fact that Donald Trump is the President does not change it from an asset bubble to a bull market!

It`s still a bubble and the air is going to come out one way or another. Either the U.S. stock market is going to crash or the U.S. Dollar is going to crash. But either way, the real value of stocks is coming way down and people should not own them.

Entrepreneurship Is At Generational Lows Right Now

Entrepreneurship is at generational lows right now in the United States. Yes, you hear the stories of somebody that starts a social media company and becomes a billionaire but those are the rare exceptions. Most young people can`t afford to start businesses because they are loaded up with college debt.

Stock Market: In Bubbles You Have To Make An Important Decision

Bubbles force you to make an important decision. You either look like a fool before they pop or you look like a fool after they pop. That`s it. And why do I say you have to look like a fool before they pop? Because you are the guy saying it is a bubble, saying it is irrational and you are the one that is not buying the stocks and as the bubble gets bigger and bigger the people that spotted the bubble look like they are fools because they are out of the action, they are not making the money that everybody else is making.

Then of course, the bubble bursts and all the people that thought they were so smart, end up looking really foolish because they lost all their money.

Volatility Is Indicative Of A Topping Stock Market

All this volatility is likely indicative of a top in the market and a turning point. And this has been ongoing for months. The stock market has never really been able to make significant progress this year, I have been talking about that all year. Even though the major averages have recorded gains up until now, beneath the surface, the average stock was declining. In fact, there are many stocks that are already in bear markets and you can`t really see it if you are just looking at the headlines.

Stocks: A Top And A Turning Point

Look at the housing stocks. Thats about the worst looking sector out there, although this (last) week the technology sector got clobbered. So, to me you are seeing a turning point in the market. All this volatility is likely indicative of a top in the market and a turning point.

Markets Are Forming A Top

I still believe that the stock market is in the process of making a top and will in fact roll over if the Federal Reserve does not come out and take the interest rate hikes off the table and unveils a new round of QE, or reverse the taper. If Yellen does that before the market breaks down than she will avert the bear market. But if she waits until after it breaks down, obviously she will be reacting to it.

But either way, the markets are in the process of forming a top, at least a short term top until the federal Reserve gives in and gives the addicts what they need, wether they need it or not.

Investment Outlook: U.S. Economy, Real Estate & Stock Market

If Janet Yellen is true to her word, by the beginning of next year there will be no QE and the Federal Reserve will be closer to pulling the trigger on raising rates. So, I think without all this extra help even if rates are still at zero, people will be preparing for interest rates not to be zero and the Federal Reserve will not be doing all this QE, I don`t think this bubble economy will be nowhere as bubbly.

I believe the real estate market will continue to soften and potentially by then it will be in outright decline in home prices, the stock market could be quite a bit lower if we stay the course between now and the beginning of 2015.

The U.S. Economy Will Sink Without QE

I don`t think the economy can sustain itself without QE. Think about how weak the GDP growth has actually been. We have been decelerating because 2013 was below 2012, and 2014 is probably going to be below 2013.

But all those years had QE. So if the economy can barely grow with all the QE, what is going to happen when you take it away?

Removing QE Will Pop The Asset Bubble

Just because they removed the QE slowly, does`t mean the bubble that was inflated by that QE isn`t going to pop.
