Markets: Everything Is Reversing From 2013

It seems like everything is reversing from 2013. A lot of the hot momentum stocks that were doing well in 2013 are the ones that are getting clobbered in 2014. Gold did poorly in 2013, doing really well in 2014. So a lot of the insanity of 2013 being reversed now in 2014. I expect that to continue.

What The Stock Market Really Wants

I think what the markets really wants is for the Federal Reserve to halt the taper. And they may not have to wait much longer, in my opinion they are going to get just that. Especially if the stock market keeps going down.

Why the Fed Can`t Raise Interest Rates

This is what is so unique to this situation. They had to bring rates all the way down to zero, which is the lowest they can go. They had bring them down to 1 percent in the last Greenspan recession and at that point it was the lowest they had been. Now they had to go all the way to zero. But what is different is that not only did they have to bring their rates down to zero to get the recovery but they could`t even raise them at all. We now have so much debt that we can`t even handle the slightest increase without going into recession.
