The Stock Market Is Still In Denial

I think the markets are still in denial in respect to the underlying weakness of the U.S. Economy. The reason the markets have rallied off their February lows is because it is apparent and it should have been apparent earlier that the Federal Reserve is not going to be raising interest rates many times if at all in 2016. Oil Prices Going Up Is Bad For U.S. Stocks And For The Economy

Oil prices going up instead of going down its going to be a negative to the U.S. Economy. I think the idea that what we need is higher oil prices, when it comes to wishing for higher oil price because you think that is good for the economy and for the stock market, be careful about what you wish for.

In fact, at the rate that own our rig count is collapsing all this oil that we are no longer producing has to be imported and the trade deficit going higher is also a negative for the U.S. Economy. The U.S. Economic Weakness That Nobody Wants To Accept

We may have one of the weakest economies of the advanced economies, its just that nobody wants to accept that fact yet. (iShares Russell 2000 Index ETF (IWM), SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF (DIA), SPDR S&P 500 Index ETF (SPY), Nasdaq 100 Index ETF (QQQ))

Gold Stocks: A Big Rally Again

We had a huge up day in gold stocks. Actually between Friday and Monday, I think this was the biggest back to back gain in gold stocks all year. The catalyst for this was the downgrade in the first quarter GDP estimates from the Atlanta Fed all the way down to just 0.1 percent. Stock Market: The Rally is Over

I think that this rally is over. I think the market is rolling over because as I said before, just not raising interest rates is not going to cut it. What the Fed is going to have to do is to cut interest rates back to zero. This Economy Would Have To Improve Dramatically To Get To Mediocre

This economy would have to improve dramatically to get to mediocre, it is lousy! Why do you think Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders have so much support? You know, behind all those phony jobs numbers are a lot of angry Americans who lost their full time jobs and have a low paying part time job, their standard of living is going down, their cost of living is going up. Everybody wants to pretend that this is a legitimate recovery but it is just an illusion.
