It started the year below 1100, it got down to 1050 when the Federal Reserve just raised interest rates in December but it has had a pretty good run. The gold stocks have gone up a lot more. In fact there are silver stocks that have gone up 500 percent since their January lows. That has been the biggest move. A June Rate Hike Is Not Bearish For Gold
That rate hike (in June) even if it comes is not bearish for Gold (SPDR Gold Trust ETF (GLD)) nor is it bullish for the Dollar. What happened the last time the Federal Reserve raised interest rates? After a knee jerk reaction we had a huge rally in gold and a big drop in the U.S. Dollar.
