Prices Are Already Rising Faster Than 2% A Year

I think prices are rising quite a bit faster than 2 percent a year already. But one of the reasons that`s not even higher is because we are exporting it to our trading partners. Look at all the bonds that China and Emerging Markets have been buying since the Federal Reserve started tapering.

In fact foreign central banks are buying more bonds now, they are more than picking up the slack from the Fed and that is what is really keeping the world at bay right now.

I think what Americans really have to worry about at least from the perspective of an investor is not what the Russian separatists are doing in the Ukraine but what Janet Yellen and her co-hosts are doing at the Federal Reserve. Gold: A Real Short Squeeze Is Coming

Once all the speculators that have been shorting gold discover that their premise is wrong, that we are not getting this vibrant recovery and that we are not going to get less QE (we are going to get more) and that we are not going to have rate hikes, that the Federal Reserve is going to keep interest rates at zero in order to prop up this phony bubble economy that they inflated, you are going to see a mad rush from all the short sellers that are going to be anxious to buy back their money losing positions.

But that`s going to be a lot more difficult because there is not going to be a lot of gold around. Because a lot of the gold that was liquidated in the second half of 2013 is not going to be available for sale in the second half of 2014. That gold was probably purchased by entities that never intend to sell it. So, I think we are going to have a real short squeeze and we are going to have a big rally probably beginning here in the second half of 2014.

I am listening a little bit to Janet Yellen`s prepared remarks. She is sounding rather upbeat on her outlook for the economy and inflation although she is still insisting that highly accommodative  monetary policy is needed.

The Losing End Of The QE Stick

While I was in Vegas, I was reading an article about the other gambling mecca in the United States, Atlantic City. And, Atlantic City, the reason i even read the article was because it was about the closing of the Trump Plaza casino and after this casino closes, the Taj Mahal will be the only remaining Trump property in Atlantic City. But I did not even realize until I read it that this is the fourth major casino to be shutting down in Atlantic City this year. This year!

Four big casinos shutting down. And all this talk about this recovery, the recovering economy, why are all these casinos shutting down?

Again, it occurred to me that this more of an example of this bifurcated economy, where you have some people doing really well, maybe very wealthy people, people who are levered up, that own assets, that own stocks, real estate. But the majority of americans are hurting as they are suffering from higher food prices, higher electrical bills, higher rents. they are on the losing end of the QE (quantitative easing) stick.

Bullish On The Euro Currency

I think the U.S. Dollar has further to go down relative to the Euro (EUR). As bad as things are in the Euroland, they are worse in the United States. And I think we are going to push the envelope much further than the Europeans. I think as inflation begins to accelerate, as Europe measures it, they are going to be quicker to try to tighten than the United States.

No matter how high the official inflation numbers get, Janet Yellen will just dismiss it, explain it away.  She is going to call it noise and say its good for us. The Federal Reserve will do nothing to contain inflation.

2.9 percent is the biggest quarterly contraction in a non-recessionary period (according to the government we are not in a recession), the biggest decline in 58 years! In almost 60 years we had not had a quarter this weak.

Americans May Not Be Able To Afford Higher Gasoline Prices

American consumers are already tapped out, they are loaded up with debt, they have part-time, low paying jobs and americans drive a lot. I mean, more than any other people we a re dependent on our cars. We don`t have a really great public transportation system, a lot of americans have to drive a long way to get to their low paying jobs and they may not be able to afford higher gasoline prices.

Higher Crude Oil Prices Will Affect The Global Economy

I am bullish on oil anyway. I think the price of oil is going up regardless of what happens in Iraq. But to the extent that Iraqi production is disrupted by civil war, that is only going to be more bullish for the price of crude oil. I do not think that this experiment is going to work any better than the fiat experiment. We will see, the market will tell. Because I think there is going to be lots of others digital currencies, there already are. and I think eventually there will be a digital currency backed by gold. The British Pound (GBP) Is Breaking Out

The British Pound is at a 6 year high high. The U.S. Dollar is hitting a 6 year low against the pound.

But why is the British Pound now breaking out? Because they are talking about raising rates and talking about not doing more QE. And they did at least a modest  amount of austerity, it did do some cutting. Not as much as they should have, but at least they did some. We didm`t do any. We kept on stimulating.

And I remember guys like Paul Krugman being critical of the United Kingdom, saying, "they are doing it wrong". Well, the market is voting that they are doing it right.

Why Jobs Are Declining In America

Loading Up On Gold And Silver

How can anybody not want to be loading up on gold and silver and getting the hell out of the U.S. Dollar when you have got this type of nonsense, when you have so many people worshipping at the alter of inflation?

Inflation is great, inflation is a good sign, the more the better, its the icing on the cake. Trying to get us to believe, to accept this nonsense that inflation is a good thing.

Inflation Is Already Taking Off

Even with the government`s own measures that are low, the number is now 2.10 percent which is now above the so-called 2 percent target that the Federal Reserve has established, that the Federal Reserve said it is trying to reach. Well, like the bank of Japan (BoJ) it has now exceeded its target, although the Fed somehow is still going to pretend that is below target.

This trend is going to continue and we are going to leave 2 percent inflation further and further in the rearview mirror.
